Copyediting and proofreading can make all the difference in a book’s (and author’s) journey to publication. As an editor, I can help you refine your language, smooth out inconsistencies, and make sure your writing reads clearly, confidently, and authentically—without losing your voice in the process.
My philosophy as an editor: you don’t need someone to rewrite your story. My job is to spot the disconnect between the story you meant to write and the one that’s showing up on the page . . . and then help you bridge that gap.
Editing isn’t about just fixing mistakes. (Though to a nerd like me, it’s a bit of a thrill to find those sneaky errors!) My favorite part of the job is encouraging you and uncovering the heart of the story that is already there, just waiting to speak to your readers.

Copy/Line Editing
starting at $0.02 per word
In this stage of edits, I’ll share suggestions via Word’s Track Changes feature to help you correct grammar hiccups, refine your story’s pacing and sentence flow, and ensure clarity and consistency throughout. I’ll also offer ideas to bring out your character’s voice and personality in ways that are both compelling and authentic to this age group—without losing your own voice in the process.
Proofreading
starting at $0.016 per word
Proofreading is your manuscript’s final polish. In this stage of edits, I’ll meticulously root out and flag lingering typos, punctuation errors, and formatting issues in Word Track Changes so you can easily review and accept any suggested edits. After revisions, you’ll have a manuscript that’s clean, consistent, and polished, so readers (and industry gatekeepers) can focus on your story . . . not the slip-ups.
Each editing project receives a customized proposal after the manuscript has been reviewed. Please refer to the median ranges of the Editorial Freelancers Association’s rate chart for a general idea.
